Turn on approvals
Approvals are off by default; on plans that include them, the workspace Owner can switch on review so posts wait for sign off before they are queued.
Last updated- Open Settings, then Approvals. This section is for the workspace Owner.
- Under Who needs approval before publishing, choose No one, Contributors or Everyone, including you.
- Pick a Review window: how long a post waits before it expires.
- Choose Save approvals.
The three choices
The setting applies to posts written from now on. Posts already scheduled or already waiting keep what they have.
| Choice | What happens |
|---|---|
| No one | Posts publish as scheduled. |
| Contributors | Contributors' posts wait for review; Owners and Admins publish directly. |
| Everyone, including you | Every post waits for an approver. |
Whether a workspace can use the team approval workflow depends on its plan. The pricing page shows which plans include it.
The review window
The window can be 6 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days or 30 days, and 7 days is the default. A post nobody reviews in that time goes back to drafts. It is never published late, and its author is told: "Your post expired before anyone reviewed it and is back in drafts."
A post to Reddit or Discord is held for a safety review by default, on every plan, because posting where a community did not ask for it risks a ban. The author can confirm automated posting is permitted there to skip the hold.
If it did not work
If you cannot see Approvals in Settings, only the Owner can change it. If the workspace plan does not include the approval workflow, upgrade it from Billing & Plan. If a Contributor's button still says Schedule, check the choice is Contributors or Everyone, including you and that you saved. Anything an AI client schedules waits for review like any other post. Changes are written to the audit log.
