Schedule your first post
Connect a channel, write a post in the composer and schedule it, and it appears on your calendar with the status Scheduled.
Last updated- Open Channels, choose Add a channel and pick a platform. Each platform asks for what it needs; the connecting articles in this help center cover every one.
- Choose Create Post in the sidebar, select the channel or channels the post should go to, and write your text.
- Choose Schedule at the top of the composer. In the Schedule Post dialog pick a date and a time, then choose Schedule Post.
- Open Calendar. The post sits on its day with its status.
What you will see
The composer checks your text and media against the rules of every channel you picked before anything is saved. If a channel would refuse the post, the composer tells you which one and why, so you fix it while you are still writing.
When the post is saved you get a receipt such as "Scheduled to 2 channels". On the calendar and in Posts the post reads Scheduled until its time comes, and Posted once the platform has confirmed it. Posted always means confirmed by the platform, never merely sent.
Other ways to send it
The same composer has Save draft if you are not ready, and Post now if you want it to go out immediately. If your workspace requires approval, the button reads Send for review instead of Schedule, and the post waits for a reviewer before it is queued.
The Schedule Post dialog offers best times and a Suggest a time button. See Choose a time and schedule a post for how they work.
If it did not work
If Schedule will not go through, the reason is written under the button, for example "Choose at least one channel before scheduling." or "Write something to post before scheduling."
If you cannot see Add a channel, your role is probably Contributor: only an Owner or an Admin can connect the accounts a workspace publishes to. If a time is in the past, the dialog says "Time is in the past" and asks for a future date and time.
If a post you scheduled later shows Error, open it for the reason; Why a post failed explains each one.
