Review a post waiting for approval

Posts that need review land in Approvals, where an approver can Approve, Reject with a note, Edit, or take the post back out of review.

Last updated
  1. Open Approvals in the sidebar. A badge shows how many posts are waiting.
  2. Read each channel's text on the card. Open the Comments under it to discuss the post.
  3. Choose Approve to let it go out at its time, or Reject… to send it back.
  4. If you reject, write a note under Why are you rejecting this? and choose Reject and return to draft.

What each action does

Approve queues the post for its scheduled time. If that time has already passed, the card says so: "This time has passed, so approving publishes the post now." If it passed too long ago, the post goes back to drafts so you can give it a new time. Reject… returns it to the author's drafts, and the author sees your note: "Your post was returned to drafts" followed by your reason. Edit opens it in the composer.

The card shows when it will expire. A post nobody reviews in time goes back to drafts and is never published late.

Safety review

A post held for a community platform such as Reddit or Discord shows Safety review and a warning that posting where a community did not ask for it is the fastest way to get an account banned. The button reads Confirm and schedule, and it needs you to tick "I confirm automated posting is permitted here."

The author can take it back

An author can choose Take out of review on their own post. It returns to drafts with its time intact, and the approver is not asked again until it is resubmitted.

If it did not work

If Approvals is not in your sidebar, you are not an approver, or approvals are off and nothing is waiting. The page then says "Nothing is waiting for review." If you are a solo workspace and the safety hold appears, you can review and approve it yourself. Reviewers are notified with "has a post waiting for your review" and a link to this page. Turn on approvals explains the setting that sends posts here.
