What an AI client can do
A connected AI client has six tools: five that read and one that saves a post as a draft, or schedules it only when you ask for a time.
Last updated- Connect the client (see Connect an AI client).
- Ask it to list your channels, then to write a post for the platform you choose.
- It saves the post as a draft. Open it in NioConnect, review it and send it yourself.
The six tools
The client sees only the one workspace its key or its approval belongs to, and it acts with your role.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
list-channels | Lists connected channels with their ids, platform, name, handle and connection health |
get-platform-rules | Looks up what a platform accepts: length, media, multi-part posts and polls |
list-posts | Reads the posts on the calendar, scheduled and published, newest first |
list-workflows | Lists workflows, with schedule and progress; read only |
get-workflow | Shows one workflow in detail; it cannot create or change one |
create-post | Saves a post to the calendar |
Drafts, schedules and the limits
create-post without a time saves a draft, which goes nowhere until a person opens NioConnect and sends it. With a time, it schedules the post, and unless your workspace requires approval it goes out then with nobody reviewing it first. A time already past is refused: it cannot publish anything immediately. A post too long for a platform is refused with the limit named, and nothing is saved. Two identical calls create two posts.
The Allow screen shows these same abilities in plain sentences before you agree, for example that it cannot publish anything immediately.
When approvals are on, a post an assistant schedules waits for review like any other. Ask the assistant to leave posts as drafts unless you give a time.
If it did not work
If a client refuses a post, read its message: it names the limit or the channel. A channel whose health is not Connected will refuse to publish, and the client is told to say so rather than schedule to it. If a client sees nothing, check its key is current under Developers. The draft guide explains the design in full.
