A channel needs reconnecting
A channel needs reconnecting when the platform no longer accepts the saved access; press Reconnect on its card and approve again, which takes about a minute.
Last updated- Open Channels and find the card marked Connection expired. Its health reads Needs reconnection.
- Press Reconnect. It opens the same panel you used the first time.
- Approve on the platform, or enter the new credential if it is a platform that asks for one.
- Open any post that failed for this reason and use Retry.
Why this happens
Platforms end access for ordinary reasons: you changed your password, revoked the app, or the access expired. The reasons NioConnect records are an expired token, a revoked token, a platform that cannot renew access automatically, and a permission that was removed. For an app password, a bot token or a key you made yourself, deleting it has the same effect.
Only an Owner or an Admin can reconnect. A Contributor sees the card but not the button.
What happens to scheduled posts
You are notified: "needs reconnecting. Scheduled posts to it won't publish until you do." Posts that come due while the channel needs attention fail with the reason that the channel's access had expired, and stay visible on the calendar. Nothing is published to a channel that cannot take it. After you reconnect, retry the post from its page.
In a channel's details, Disable keeps the connection so you can Enable it later without reconnecting. Disconnect deletes the stored access, so you will need to authorize again, and posts scheduled to that channel will fail.
If it did not work
Check that you signed in to the account you meant, and that the access you created on the platform (an app password, a token, a key) still exists. If it does and the channel will not reconnect, write to us with the channel name and what you see.
