Deleting your data

Last updated 3 August 2026

There are two different things you might want to remove, and they work differently. Removing a connected social account is instant and entirely in your hands. Erasing your whole NioConnect workspace is done by us, on request, within a stated window.

1. Remove a connected social account: instant, self-serve

This is the one most people want, and it is the one every platform means when it asks how a user deletes their data.

  • Sign in to NioConnect and open Channels.
  • Find the connected account and choose Disconnect.
  • Confirm. The app tells you plainly that the stored access is deleted and that you will have to authorize the account again, so it cannot be mistaken for pausing it.

Disconnecting is available to members whose role can manage channels. If yours cannot, ask an administrator of your workspace, or remove our access from the platform’s own settings, described next, which works whatever your role here is and does not depend on us at all.

The connected account and its stored access token are retired together, in a single database transaction, so there is no window in which one survives the other. The token can no longer be read by the application and can no longer publish anything. Connecting the same account again requires a fresh authorization from the platform; the old access is not revived.

2. Revoke our access from the platform itself

You never have to go through us. Every platform we support lets you remove an app’s access from its own settings, usually under “Apps”, “Connected accounts”, “Business integrations” or “Third-party access”. Removing NioConnect there immediately invalidates the token we hold, whatever we do.

Where a platform notifies us that you have removed the app, we record that notification when it arrives; see confirmation codes below. Separately, and regardless of whether we were told, a connection the platform stops accepting is marked as needing reconnection and we stop trying to publish through it.

3. Erase your NioConnect account and workspace, by request

Email info@nioconnect.com from the address on the account, with the subject “Delete my workspace”, naming the workspace you want erased.

  • We acknowledge within 5 business days and confirm the request comes from the workspace owner.
  • We complete the erasure within 30 days of that confirmation: your account, your workspace, its members, its connected accounts, their encrypted tokens, your posts, your uploaded media and your audit history are erased or anonymised so that none of it identifies you or can be used to publish.
  • Encrypted backups are retained for up to 30 days, so a copy can exist there for that long afterwards before it rolls off. It is not restored into the running product.

We may have to keep a minimal record that the deletion happened, and anything a law requires us to retain, a payment record for instance. We will say so if it applies to you.

This step is handled by a person rather than a button today. We would rather tell you that than put a self-serve control on this page that does not exist yet.

Confirmation codes

If you removed NioConnect from a Meta app (Facebook, Instagram or Threads), Meta may show you a confirmation code and a link back to this page. That code identifies the deletion request Meta sent us on your behalf, which we record when it arrives.

To ask about a specific request, email info@nioconnect.com and quote the code. We will confirm what we received and when, within 5 business days. Removing the app at the platform has already invalidated the access we held; that took effect at the platform, without us. If you also want your NioConnect workspace erased, that is a separate request and it is section 3 above.

A confirmation code is not a password and is not sensitive; it identifies a request, not an account.

What we hold in the first place

The privacy policy describes what we store about a connected account, what connecting one authorises us to do, and how tokens are encrypted. If you are deciding whether to disconnect or to erase everything, that page is the one that tells you what is at stake.
