Billing and plans

How the trial works

You start a 7-day trial on a paid plan with a card added at the start, nothing is charged during the trial, and you can cancel before it ends.

  1. Open Settings, then Billing & Plan (during setup the Choose your plan step shows the same plans). Billing is for the workspace Owner.
  2. Pick a Billing period, Monthly or Yearly, then choose a plan.
  3. Press Start 7-day trial. Checkout opens on our payment provider's page, where you add the card.
  4. Come back to the app. The page confirms "Your plan is confirmed." and shows Free trial active with the date it ends.

What happens at the end

The panel states it plainly: your trial ends on a date, converts to the plan you chose at that point, and your card is charged then. You can switch your billing period or cancel any time before. "You will not be charged if you cancel. The trial keeps working until" the end date, and after that the workspace has no plan.

The trial has the full entitlements of the plan you chose from the first minute. There is one trial per workspace, ever: if you subscribe again later, the button reads Subscribe instead of starting a trial.

Who handles the payment

Payment and tax are handled by our payment provider as the merchant of record, so there is no card form inside NioConnect. The Invoices tab lists invoices and receipts, Payment details shows the billing details on file with Edit billing details and Add tax ID, and Open the billing portal takes you to the provider's own page. Plans and what each includes are on the pricing page.

The provider is the source of truth

Your plan on NioConnect changes when the payment provider confirms it, not when you click. If you return before that, the page may take a moment to catch up.

If it did not work

If checkout did not complete you will see "That payment did not go through, so nothing was charged and no plan was started." Pick a plan and try again. If the browser blocked the redirect, the page says so and suggests trying again or using a different browser. If the Billing & Plan section is missing for you, you are not the Owner.
