Connecting channels

Connect a one click platform

Most platforms connect with one click: you press Connect, approve on the platform's own screen and land back on Channels; what differs is what you need ready first.

Last updated
  1. Open Channels and choose Add a channel.
  2. Pick the platform. A dimmed one is waiting on that platform's own review and cannot be chosen yet.
  3. Approve on the platform's screen. That screen is theirs and is the authoritative statement of what you grant.
  4. If the platform has a second answer (a server, a Page, a board), pick it when NioConnect asks.

What to have ready

Almost every failed connection is one of these prerequisites, found in the wrong order.

When a platform is greyed out

The Add a channel dialog says "A dimmed one is not gone, it is waiting on that platform's own review." A platform can also read "(test accounts only)" or "(not available yet)", usually with a reason and sometimes an expected wait. That is a deliberate gate, not a fault, and nothing in your own account lifts it. The platforms page shows what is available.

If it did not work

If the picker after approval comes back empty, one of the prerequisites above is missing: a Page you do not administer, a Google account with no YouTube channel, no Pinterest board. Fix it on the platform and connect again. Pages you deselected on Meta's screen do not appear later; reconnect and approve them.

Instagram, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Telegram, Nostr and Mastodon have their own articles because they ask you a question or for a credential first.
